Department of Computer Engineering

Established in 1999, the Department of Computer Engineering is committed to imparting quality technical education and nurturing competent professionals equipped to meet the challenges of the rapidly evolving technology landscape. The Department offers Undergraduate (Intake: 180) and Postgraduate (Intake: 24) programs in Computer Engineering and is permanently affiliated with the University of Mumbai. The undergraduate program was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) from 2012–2015 and reaccredited for the period July 2022 to June 2025, and July 2025 to June 2028.

The Department is supported by a team of qualified, experienced, and dedicated faculty members and well-equipped laboratories that provide an excellent environment for learning, innovation, and research. Students gain strong theoretical foundations and practical exposure in areas such as Programming, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Web Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Blockchain, and other emerging technologies. Innovative teaching methodologies, Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices, and ICT-enabled learning tools are effectively integrated into the teaching-learning process.

Beyond academics, the Department actively promotes holistic student development through a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The Department is associated with the Computer Society of India (CSI) and hosts the Coding Club – Bit-Byte-Go, providing students with opportunities to enhance their coding and problem-solving skills through peer learning. Student-driven initiatives such as the Android Application Development Club, WebX, Microsoft Learn Student Club, and Google Developer Group further foster technical excellence, innovation, and collaborative learning.

To encourage creativity and self-learning, students actively contribute to the Department’s newsletter, e-magazine, and wall magazine. The Department also provides access to various learning platforms, including e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory (IIT Bombay), Virtual Labs, Infosys Springboard, SWAYAM, and other online resources that support continuous skill enhancement.

The Department strongly encourages innovation, research, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) activities, motivating students and faculty to undertake publications, copyrights, patents, and project development. Through internships, industrial projects, product development activities, expert talks, workshops, seminars, and collaborations established through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), students gain valuable industry exposure and practical experience.

Dedicated training, career guidance, and mentoring initiatives help students prepare for higher studies, entrepreneurship, and successful careers in leading organizations. The Department also maintains a strong alumni network that contributes through mentoring, industry interactions, internships, and placement support.
