Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at Vidyavardhini’s College of Engineering and Technology.
Established in 2013, the Department of Civil Engineering is committed to developing competent, innovative, and socially responsible engineers equipped with strong technical knowledge, professional ethics, and lifelong learning skills. Our vision is to create engineering professionals who contribute meaningfully to sustainable infrastructure development and nation-building.
I am proud to share that the department has achieved significant milestones over the years. The Undergraduate (B.E.) Civil Engineering program has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in April 2024, reflecting our commitment to quality education and continuous academic excellence. Further strengthening our academic offerings, the department has been successfully running the M.Tech. Program in Structural Engineering since the academic year 2022–23, providing students with opportunities for advanced learning and research.
Our greatest strength is our dedicated and highly qualified faculty team. We are proud to have five faculty members holding Ph.D. degrees from prestigious institutions such as IIIT Hyderabad, NIT, and SPCE, while several other faculty members are actively pursuing their doctoral research. Their expertise, research orientation, and commitment to student mentoring create an enriching learning environment.
The department emphasizes experiential learning through industry interactions, expert lectures, site visits, internships, technical workshops, project-based learning, and research activities. We regularly organize flagship events such as the Product Showcase and the Vidyavardhini National Project Showcase (VNPS), which foster innovation, creativity, and interdisciplinary collaboration among students.
Beyond academics, we encourage our students to actively participate in technical competitions, professional society activities, co-curricular and extracurricular events, community service, and leadership initiatives. These experiences help develop teamwork, communication, problem-solving abilities, and managerial skills that prepare them for successful professional careers.
At the Department of Civil Engineering, we believe that education extends beyond classrooms. Our focus is on nurturing technically proficient, ethically grounded, and socially conscious engineers who are capable of addressing the evolving challenges of the construction and infrastructure sectors.

About us
Vidyavardhini was established as a registered society in 1970 by late Padmashri H. G. alias Bhausaheb Vartak for the noble cause of education in rural areas.
Vidyavardhini’s College of Engineering and Technology (VCET), Vasai is affiliated to University of Mumbai and approved by DTE and AICTE. The institute is accredited by NAAC and National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
VCET’s Civil Engineering Department has an Audit, Design and Testing (ADT) Cell to provide audit, design and testing services in Civil Engineering. The department has a technical work force of 11 Civil Engineers with at least Master’s degree in Civil engineering’s diverse fields and 4 assisting staff.

To be an eminent institute providing ‘credible, reasonable and sustainable’ solutions in civil industry.
Mission: –
M1: To provide Audit services, such as Third-party audit to Government, Semi government and Private organizations; conduct structural audit and provide retrofitting or repair solutions.
M2: To provide Design services for stable, durable, elegant, and cost-effective building design for structures, green building solutions and other sustainability solutions.
M3: To conduct Geotechnical investigation & land survey; material testing of concrete, bricks, tiles, steel, timber, chemicals and provide mix-design.
