Sports Committee
The Sports Committee organizes its annual Sports fest AVAHAN, 11 day long Inter and Intra college event. We aim at culminating our eleven days of sports celebration(festivities) into a grandeur of enthusiasm and thrill, goosebumps and the sounds of victory, strategy and skill.
Events
Induction Program
The sports training program is organized by the sports committee under the name of Induction programme to train them for the all-round growth development. The motive of this program is to make freshers realize to participate in the sports activities to learn special qualities such as communication skills, leadership skills, team building, etc.
Team Selection and Participation
The sports committee organizes the team selection for every required sports such as Overarm Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Volleyball etc in the first two months of the academic year. The selected students train hard in their respective schedule allotted by the committee to participate in various inter college sports festival representing VCET college. The VCET team of respective sports hold great history of glory by winning numerous trophies and making our college proud.
Avahan
Every year, the sports committee hosts its annual Sports Festival called Avahan which means -'A call to the champions'. It's an intra and inter collegiate sports event where all the students get to bring up their inner sportsmanship and keeping hustling towards victory. The atmosphere is filled with zest, cheers and fun. The event begins with a Grand Inaugration was held wherein our chief guest was Mr. Archis Patil, India’s No. 1 Freestyler and Mr. Vikrant Keni, India Divyang Cricket Team Captain. We also invited Rhythm-funk band for a special performance.Their presence made the crowd energetic. Special cricket match was arranged later between visually impaired students from Shree Trust, Virar. The smile on their face made Avahan a memorable one. The numerous events organized in Avahan are as follows:
Chess

Carrom
“Begin the match of Carrom, With Queen as the aim, Keep your focus on the Striker, And win your game!”
Basketball
“It takes a player to shoot a shot. But it takes a team to win a basketball ball match.”
Table-Tennis
“I am standing when the ball comes, that's why I don't have to move. I can read the game.”
Athletics
“The road to Athletics greatness is not marked by perfection but by the ability and willingness to constantly overcome obstacles.”
Kabaddi
“Rules of '' life'' are same as that of the game '' Kabaddi ''. The moment you ''touch'' your '' success'' line,''people'' will start pulling your '' leg''.”
Rink Football
“In football, the worst blindness is only seeing the ball, so keep your eyes on the goal and never quit.”
Overarm Cricket
“Cricket is about a lot more than playing by the rules, Mystery. It’s a gentleman’s game. Don’t you ever forget that.”
Box Cricket
“No cricket team in the world depends on one or two players. The team always plays to win.”
Throwball
“Throwball is a game of presence of mind. For the ball to go forward you must take a step backwards and throw it with your full potential.”
Badminton
“Badminton is like ballet dancing. It requires a lot of control, strength, mind play and measured movement.”
Girls Cricket
“Girls and cricket? Weird combo. Everybody stated. Today its changing our perception for girls back
Arm Wrestling
“Winning in arm wrestling is about putting continuous efforts. You must keep applying your strength without stopping.”
Footvolley

Volleyball
