Rules

1. Every form of music is allowed.
2. ‎No allowance and conveyance of any sorts will be given to any band.
2. Eliminations and Finals will be conducted on the 8th and 9th March 2018.
3. ‎Entry fee for every band is Rs 800/-.
4. ‎Bands have to register in advance to book their slots on a first come first serve basis.
5. ‎The slot timings would be provided only once the registration amount is paid in full.
6. ‎The registered band should be present at least 45 minutes before their allotted slot time otherwise they will be disqualified.
7. 1 original composition is compulsory for Elims and Finals. All bands will be given a maximum of 25 minutes (Setup + Performance) for Elims. Finalists will be chosen from the Elims depending on the number of entries. These bands will be given maximum of 25 minutes on stage (Setup + Performance).
8. Bands are requested to bring their own EXTRA equipments. A standard 5 piece drum kit, amplifiers and the necessary will be provided by our Sponsors. Drummers can bring their own double bass pedals, crashes, splashes, chinas, hi-hats, extra stands and the guitarists must carry their own socket plugs (Indian, German….whatever), extensions, cables, EXTRA AMPS(IF REQUIRED) etc. PLEASE carry along with you whatever you need - do not crib like old aunties at a fish market.
9. Use of abusive language, smoking and drinking is strictly prohibited. Everyone is subjected to frisking.
10. ‎Registration fees are non-refundable.
11. ‎Any damage to the equipment provided must be borne by the band themselves.
12. Zeal or the organisers are not responsible for any of the bands’ belongings.
13. Decisions of the judges and event coordinators will be final. No argument against them will be entertained.
14. Violation of any of the above mentioned rules can lead to disqualification.

For those who have no clue whatsoever about the event, OCTAVES is the annual rock band competition which is held at Vidyavardhini's college of Engineering and Technology (VCET).

Dates:

8th March – Octaves Elimination
9th March – Octaves Elimination + Finals 3pm onwards + Headlining Act 7 pm onwards. (Finalists get to open for the headlining band)
